ABOVE with Lt. Col. Dempsey at left: at
3AD's 3rd Brigade Base in Kuwait in early April, 1991. From left:
Lt. Col. Martin E. Dempsey (Bde. Exec. Officer), Col. Leroy R.
Goff III (Bde. Commander), and Sgt. Maj. Chris K. Prince (Bde.
Sgt. Maj.) are shown at a time when the Brigade was involved
in security and humanitarian operations on the Kuwait-Iraq border
over a month after the end of Operation Desert Storm and combat. |
|
Dempsey is pointed out by arrow as the
3rd Bde Tactical Operations Team gathered for this group photo
outside their camouflaged TOC tent. This was inside Iraq in early
March, 1991, about three days after end of combat. |
|
Dempsey is at right in this group of three
soldiers as they inspect an area of a Kuwait City beach that
had been largely cleared of Iraqi mines and barbed wire. Iraq
had expected a coalition invasion from the sea. The other two
soldiers are Col. Jawarri of the Kuwaiti Army and Col. Goff (3rd
Bde Commander). |
